CROESO I STIWDIO PAWB
Stiwdio Pawb is a transdisciplinary project rooted in creativity, collaboration, and community. It began as a personal exploration during Lauren’s MA in Fashion Innovation and has since evolved into a shared vision for a creative studio space grounded in heritage, wellbeing, and sustainability.
Our Journey
The journey of Stiwdio Pawb began when Lauren, an MA Fashion Innovation student with a passion for Welsh culture and natural textiles, met Veronika Ondrujova during a university lecture. They instantly bonded over wool and sustainable craft.

Soon after, Lauren was invited to speak at one of Veronika’s Wardrobe Talks, where she shared insights from her dissertation Rediscovering Creativity – The Role of Arts in Adult Well-being and Community Engagement. Their creative connection blossomed into friendship and collaboration.

Veronika later introduced Lauren to Cathy Wright of Lazy Kate Textiles, who kindly offered to teach her how to spin and weave from raw fleece, reviving a traditional Welsh craft deeply rooted in heritage. This hands-on experience re-ignited the idea for Stiwdio Pawb and inspired its first initiative: the From Fleece to Fabric retreat.

Hosted at Bryntysilio, a beautiful outdoor education centre in Llangollen that’s evolving into a wider community space, the retreat will explore the full journey of wool, from fleece to finished fabric, using locally sourced fleece provided by a North Wales sheep farmer, Lynne.

From this seed of an idea, Stiwdio Pawb has grown into a bigger vision: a creative space in the heart of North Wales where adults can slow down, connect, and get stuck into something creative. We believe creativity is for pawb (everyone), and our studio supports wellbeing through hands-on making, learning new skills, and sharing time and space with others.

Workshops, retreats, a gallery for exhibitions, and a cosy coffi shop serving local cakes and treats will all live under one roof. Whether you’re popping in for a panad, keen to learn a new craft, or fancy hosting a session of your own—there’s a place for you here.

Lauren continues to develop the project by collaborating with local experts, and taking inspiration from visits to other community hubs such as Alltogether Otherwise in NOMA and Kitty's Laundrette in Anfield. With its roots in heritage and its heart in community, Stiwdio Pawb is a space to breathe, make, and feel at home.
Our Aims
1
Reconnect people with traditional Welsh craft through contemporary experiences
Stiwdio Pawb aims to preserve and celebrate Wales’ rich textile heritage by offering hands-on workshops and retreats that make traditional skills like spinning and weaving accessible to everyone.
2
Support well-being through creativity and slow making
By offering a welcoming space for adults to create, learn, and connect, the project highlights the therapeutic benefits of craft and encourages creative engagement as a form of self-care and community connection.
3
Promote collaboration between local makers, educators, and the wider community
Through partnerships with experts in textiles, sustainability, and agriculture, Stiwdio Pawb creates opportunities for skill-sharing, knowledge exchange, and deeper connection to the land and each other.
