WYTHNOS DEG - week ten

I'm not really sure what is wrong with me this week but after what felt like a very productive week last week, I just can't seem to focus and crack on! We have 1-2-1's with John on Monday where I presented to him my project proposal idea and told him what is going well and what I am having difficulties with. He was super helpful and even said that if my proposal was good enough that he would send it to Jo the woman who runs Ty Pawb. So that gave me a kick up the bum to make sure it is, in fact, good enough!

The rest of that day I spend on my portfolio, felt like I'd had enough of writing and wanted to focus on Tuesdays progress review with Kayla and Paul. I still feel like it takes me so long to do portfolio pages and they never look as good as other peoples that I see. I know it will take time and I guess I just need to continue on with it so keep adding the layers until it's how I want it.

Tuesday morning we spent in the fab lab looking at 3D printing. It was really fun, but my wooden love spoon was proving a challenge to scan. It worked in the end but it took ages and unfortunately I didn't manage to get it printed, so that's something I need to do next week when I'm back in Liverpool. But I think it's gonna look really cool and then I'll be able to continue with the little jewellery idea and I need to add them onto my designs in the coming weeks.

In the afternoon we had our project review, I went through my pages and showed samples of everything I had produced so far. They didn't really have many comments so I'm going to assume that's a good thing? Paul just said he is glad I'm gonna make something and that the project has progressed loads since last time, so yes, I am going to take that as good haha! I've booked in a 1-2-1 with Kayla next Tuesday so I'm going to ask her then if there was anything else they had to say, but for now I just need to crack on with it!

The rest of this week has been a bit annoying really, I've been sat at the laptop for 2 days straight and just don't feel I am getting anywhere. My apartment went through on Friday so I had some final things to deal with there, I went to the cinema to see Wicked and I've got a weekend of Christmas activities planned with friends as well as getting ready for Kiruna/Northern Lights next week. So I feel a bit messy and unfocused which isn't really great since I only have one week when I get back to go into uni and do any physical things I need. But I will plod on and try and get something done!

I've planned for next week to go to Trefriw Woolen Mill in Betws-y-Coed, so that should spark some more inspiration for me - it's more just getting everything down onto a portfolio page to make sure it's clear to the external examiner! Then Tuesday I have my 1-2-1 with Kayla and then I will pop to a drop in session for them to have a look at my project proposal before I hand it in the week after.

To Do:

• Pick up Welsh Love Spoon 3D print

• Finish Project Proposal - re look at Introduction & make timeline

• Get all portfolio pages up to date for what I have produced so far

• Start to plan out design development pages using stand draping
