Thoughts, Feelings & Analysis
I am feeling very excited for the potential of what could come after I finish my MA. After visiting Ruthin Craft Center I thought, why can't I be a Arts Practitioner full time? Why do I feel the need to go into a full time 9-5 job when that hasn't made me happy in the past? The idea of studying a PHD is very intriguing and I feel like it is something that would allow me to continue to be creative but also soothes the negative narrative my brains conjures when I even think about becoming a full time artist. Money is always going to be an issue but I'm resourceful and I can make anything work. The Wardrobe Talk that I hosted kind of turned into a little therapy session and it was also the thing I needed to make me believe in myself. If others can make a living this way then why can't I?
Connections
My goals are simply to do something I love that earns me enough money to sustain my desired way of living. This whole MA is a step closer to achieving that goal and this week was a real turning point for me to even consider I could living out my childhood dream of being an artist full time. There is still a long way to go, I know, but it feels good to have the possibility that could happen and have the support around me that I need
Action Plan
Look into PHD funding
Look over my literature review after receiving notes from Louise
Start thinking about objectives and methods for primary research
Meet up with Kathy and Veronika next week
Look into the possibility of renting out a studio from Ruthin Crafts Center or other local studios
